Alma Ray Mair

Alma Ray Mair entered this world on October 1, 1944, to Loren and Zella Howarth Mair. Ray ended his journey on July 21, 2024. He was a member of the of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was sealed to his family for time and eternity.

“Uncle” Ray was born and raised in Heber City and never had any desire to leave. He was an avid horseman with may talents from breaking, training, and being a Ferrier. There were very few he couldn’t convince to be ridable. Ray spent a lot of his youth herding cows in the west fork area. He loved the outdoors and the freedom of the open range. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and anything horse related.

One of Rays greatest enjoyments was driving the bus for the Wasatch County School District where he enjoyed his time with all the little kids. He was definitely the favorite with them labeling him” Cowboy Ray”. Ray will be missed by many, but his memory will live forever.

Ray is survived by his only brother Clinton Mair, nieces Connie (Alex) Parker, Karen Mair. Nephews, Marc (Luara) Mair, Mont (Natalie) Mair. He has 6 Great Nieces and 2 Great Nephews, and 3 great great nieces and 1 great great nephew. Proceeded in death by both his parents, a sister-in-law Judy Mair. A great nephew Drew Mair and a great great niece Zella J Hooper.

A viewing will be held Thursday July 25, 2024, from 6-8 pm at the Heber 6th Ward. Located at 1635 East Center Street Heber City, UT 84032. There will be a viewing prior to services on Friday July 26, 2024, from 9:00-10:45am. Services will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Heber City Cemetery By Way of Horse Drawn Carriage.
