E. Robinson

Ellis Lyle Robinson passed away on the morning of July 16, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family, after a long, brave fight with diabetes, cancer, and other illnesses.

Lyle was born on August 25, 1939 in Hilliard, Wyoming to Sarah Beatrice Gibson and William Theodore Robinson. He grew up on Hilliard Flat, and was the youngest of eight children. Lyle was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served as a Missionary in the East Central States Mission. He faithfully served in many callings including: Sunday School Teacher, various roles in the Young Men’s Presidency, President of the Quorum of the Seventy when it was a Stake position, Bishop, Stake High Council, Stake Executive Secretary, and Stake Patriarch. Lyle served in the Army National Guard for six years.

Lyle married his eternal sweetheart, Alice Elizabeth Moon from Almy, Wyoming, on January 26, 1962. Lyle and Alice had 10 children together, all of whom he was extremely proud. He enjoyed working hard, and playing hard, with his family, square dancing with his wife, fishing, camping, hunting, tying flies, wood working, sharpening, music, and studying the scriptures. Lyle enjoyed his life’s work as a rancher, and also working in Contractor Sales for several lumber companies in Evanston.

Lyle is survived by: his wife Alice Elizabeth Moon Robinson, his children: Elizabeth Robinson, Terry (Rebecca) Robinson, Ilene (Timothy) Bettinson, Carol (Dean) Hicks, Allen (Karianne) Robinson, Brian (Teresa) Robinson, Gordon (Jenny) Robinson, Daniel (Lori) Robinson, Susan (Armando) Perez, Calvin (Shelly) Robinson, his brothers Emory Robinson and Wayne Robinson, his sisters Ruby Hall and Doris Scott, 36 Grandchildren, two Grandchildren on the way, 3 step-Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, 13 Step Great-Grandchildren, and multiple nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, William Theodore and Sarah Beatrice Robinson, brothers George Robinson, Henry Robinson, sister Ila Kofoed, his Granddaughter Kaylen Robinson, and Great Grandson Josiah Ellis Small.

A viewing will be held in Lyle’s honor at the Hilliard church building, located at 14864 Hwy 150 S, on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the Hilliard building on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 A.M.
