Edward P. Wittrock

Edward P. Wittrock, 88, of Kamas, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Kamas, Utah. He was born on January 12, 1936, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Walter H. and Margarethe K.E. (Wenzlaff) Wittrock. He spent his childhood years in Seward, Nebraska, and was baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. He honorably served in the United States Airforce, then moved to Denver where he met and Married Ruth M. Aiken on December 17,1960. He attended Denver University, where he attained a master's degree in mechanical engineering, which lead him to various companies over the years, showcasing his commitment to learning and his desire to make a meaningful impact in his field. Upon retirement from General Dynamics he and Ruth decided to move to Kamas, Utah to be near their youngest daughter.

Edward was active in his Lutheran church congregations over the years, he loved to sing in the choirs at the various churches he attended, he played the guitar, loved to sing folk music, and spent much of his years as an artist creating many beautiful metal sculptures, that he became very well known for. He also loved to paint, he absolutely loved fishing, he loved his friends and family and His Savior, Jesus.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Joe) Donnell of Kamas and Nancy (Timothy) Lehnerz of Parker, Colorado, his older sister, Irmgard “Teri” DuBois, of Golden, Colorado, and Grandchildren, Marissa, Chloe, and Nick Lehnerz, Rachelle(Donny) Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Aiken Wittrock, his parents Walter and Margarethe Wittrock, his younger sister, Margaret Forst, and his granddaughter Timber Donnell.

A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate Edward's life will take place on August 27, 2024, at 11:00 at Golden Cemetery in Golden, Colorado.
