James Robert Crossley

March 18, 1949 — June 1, 2024

Fort Bridger

Emblem
The true measure of a man;
What he is,
Not what he has,
Nor what did his eulogy say,
But how many felt sad
When he passed away
Jim died quietly at his home in Fort Bridger, Wyoming, June 1, 2024, with his wife and dog by him.  He was born March 18, 1949, to Robert Vern and Corabelle Smart Crossley in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jim had worn many hats in his life.  A few of them were ranch hand, soldier, football player, truck driver, songwriter, rodeo rider, gunsmith, heavy equipment operator, and train operator.  He owned his own excavation business and rodeo bull business.  Jim was a Vietnam veteran and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He was a retired locomotive engineer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Daniel and sister Valerie.  Jim is survived by his wife Julie; son, James (Desiree) Crossley, Grantsville, Utah; daughter, Robyn (Trevor) Hardcastle, Salt Lake City, Utah; stepsons, Brandon (Tristin) Christenson, Lyman, Wyoming and Jason Christenson, West Jordan, Utah; eight grandchildren, Nash, Peyton, Elsy, Von, Dillon, Jade, Ryder, and Peyton Jay; and his little sweetheart Amelia.  Family he cherished as good friends, and friends he came to love like family.
Per Jim’s wishes, private graveside services will be held.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
