Rose "MARY" Searcy

August 5, 1937 — June 26, 2024

Evanston

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose Mary Searcy, known to many simply as Mary. She was a pillar of the community, dedicating her life to volunteering at various organizations such as the senior center, Rocky Mountain Care, and ECDC. Mary's kindness and compassion knew no bounds; she was a grandmother figure to every child she encountered and a friend to all who had the privilege of crossing her path.

Mary was born on August 5, 1937, in Evanston, WY, to Rhoda and Bird Hughes. She grew up alongside her siblings Glenn, Joyce, Luella, Edna, Reta, Junior, and Albert. In adulthood, Mary married the love of her life. December 29 ,1954 Loren "Slim" Searcy, with whom she had a daughter named Anita. Together as a family, they shared many cherished memories and experiences.

One of Mary's proudest accomplishments was her 50 plus  years of membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2359. Her dedication and commitment to the organization were unparalleled.

In her spare time, Mary found joy in attending church every Sunday and relished her trips to Wendover to be with her extended family. She also had a fondness for playing bingo weekly and spending quality time with her circle of friends.
